SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 50 by Senate Committee on Agriculture and Natural
Resources
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 50 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 50 would increase the fee caps currently in statute for a number of permits and licenses
issued by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) for hunting, fishing,
fur harvesting, and wildlife management.
According to the KDWPT, enactment of SB 50 would have no direct fiscal effect on the
agency at this time because it does not intend to make increases to fees at this time. Any increase
in the actual fees charged would be implemented through the rules and regulations process. The
bill would, however, give the agency latitude over time to respond to alterations in wildlife
populations, changes to environment, and the fiscal demands of agency operations.
