SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 3 by Senator Hensley
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 3 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
Under current law, the Secretary of State appoints the election commissioner in counties
that have a population exceeding 130,000. SB 3 would remove this appointment authority from
the Secretary of State and place it with the board of county commissioners.
The League of Kansas Municipalities and the Kansas Association of Counties indicate
enactment of SB 3 would have no fiscal effect on Kansas cities or counties. The Secretary of State
indicates enactment of SB 3 would have no fiscal effect on the agency.
