Christian School boys basketball team on winning the 2021 Indiana

1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the
2 Blackhawk Christian School boys basketball team on winning
3 the 2021 Indiana High School Athletic Association ("IHSAA")
4 Class 2A championship title.
5 Whereas, The Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian High
6 School boys basketball team captured the 2021 IHSAA Class
7 2A championship title after defeating Parke Heritage High
8 School;
9 Whereas, The team consists of teammates Caleb Furst,
10 Callan Wood, Zane Burke, Jacob Boyer, Marcus Davidson,
11 Gage Sefton, Lewis Jones, Jimmy Davidson, Luke Moorman,
12 Josh Furst, Micah Thompson, Luke LaGrange, and Andrew
13 McIntosh;
14 Whereas, To earn their spot in the state championship
15 game, the Blackhawk Christian Braves defeated the Bowman
16 Academy Eagles in the regional championship and the
17 Blackford Bruins in the semi-state championship;
18 Whereas, Fighting for the state title, the Blackhawk
19 Christian Braves faced off against the Parke Heritage Wolves
20 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis;
21 Whereas, After trailing behind early on in the first period,
22 the Braves took a commanding lead over the Wolves, finishing
23 the game with a score of 55-40;
24 Whereas, Caleb Furst led the Braves with 20 points and 7

1 rebounds, and Zach Burke and Jacob Boyer each made 14
2 points;
3 Whereas, Following the game, Caleb Furst was named the
4 winner of the Arthur L. Trester Mental Attitude Award by the
5 members of the IHSAA Executive Committee, which honors a
6 graduating senior who has demonstrated excellence in mental
7 attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability;
8 Whereas, The Blackhawk Christian Braves, led by coach
9 Marc Davidson, finished the season with a 28-3 record; and
10 Whereas, The Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves'
11 hard work, grit, and determination were key to the team's
12 success in winning the state title: Therefore,
13 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
14 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
15 concurring:
16 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
17 congratulates the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian High School
18 boys basketball team on winning the IHSAA Class 2A state
19 championship title.
20 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
21 to transmit copies of this Resolution to each member of the Fort
22 Wayne Blackhawk Christian High School boys basketball team.
