SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION memorializing Charles
2 "Chuck" O. Lawrence.
3 Whereas, Charles "Chuck" O. Lawrence passed away on
4 March 21, 2021, at the age of 80;
5 Whereas, Chuck was born on October 13, 1940, in
6 Chicago, Illinois, to Herbert and Crystal Lawrence;
7 Whereas, Chuck married the love of his life, Gail Reid, on
8 October 20, 1962, with whom he raised four children;
9 Whereas, Chuck served faithfully for the Northern Indiana
10 Public Service Company ("NIPSCO") for over thirty years,
11 where he started as a mechanic and advanced to substation
12 electrician, obtaining certifications and accolades all along the
13 way;
14 Whereas, Chuck was dedicated to his local community and
15 served over fifty years as a volunteer firefighter and fire chief
16 for the Koontz Lake Fire Department, while also working for
17 Starke County Emergency Medical Services for several years;

1 Whereas, Chuck is survived by his four children Butch,
2 Kelly, Jodi, and Jack, his seven grandchildren, and his three
3 great-grandchildren; and
4 Whereas, Chuck will be remembered for his affection for
5 his family, his faithful devotion to his late wife, Gail, his love of
6 the outdoors, and his knack for fixing anything and everything:
7 Therefore,
8 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
9 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
10 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate memorializes Charles
11 "Chuck" O. Lawrence.
12 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
13 to transmit copies of this Resolution to the family of Charles
14 "Chuck" O. Lawrence.
