RESOLUTION No. ____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Crown
2 Point High School's Jesse Mendez on his third state wrestling
3 championship.
4 Whereas, Jesse Mendez won his third consecutive state
5 wrestling championship on February 20, 2021;
6 Whereas, Jesse Mendez finished his junior year wrestling
7 season undefeated with a score of 34-0;
8 Whereas, Jesse Mendez became the 39th wrestler in Indiana's
9 history to bring home three state titles;
10 Whereas, Crown Point High School boasts 14 individual state
11 championships since 1955;
12 Whereas, Coach Branden Lorek led the entire wrestling team
13 to success while safely navigating the COVID-19 pandemic;
14 and
15 Whereas, Jesse Mendez's hard work and determination
16 continue to bring success and pride to the Crown Point
17 community: Therefore,
18 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
19 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
20 the Senate concurring:
21 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
22 congratulates Jesse Mendez on his 2021 state wrestling
23 championship win.

1 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
2 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to the
3 office of State Representative Julie Olthoff.
