1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring the many
2 accomplishments of Josephine Malone on her 100th birthday.
3 Whereas, On March 14, 2021, Josephine Malone will be
4 celebrating her 100th birthday;
5 Whereas, Josephine Malone was born in Peoria, Illinois, to
6 Lahood and Ida Peters;
7 Whereas, Josephine Malone is the mother of a daughter, four
8 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren;
9 Whereas, During World War II, Josephine Malone worked
10 in California as an inspector at an optical company that made
11 lenses for the Navy;
12 Whereas, Josephine Malone was the hardworking owner of

1 the southside tavern, the Melrose Club;
2 Whereas, Josephine Malone was a member of St. Patrick's
3 and St. Mark's Church in Peoria, Illinois;
4 Whereas, Josephine Malone was the beautiful, welcoming
5 hostess at Jumer's Restaurant for more than 20 years;
6 Whereas, Josephine Malone is a long-standing member and
7 served as vice president of the Itoo Society;
8 Whereas, Josephine Malone loves to dance, drink vodka
9 tonics, eat ice cream, and wear blue;
10 Whereas, Josephine Malone is waiting to strike it rich on the
11 penny slots during her trips to the casino; and
12 Whereas, Josephine Malone is always ready for her next
13 adventure: Therefore,
14 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
15 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
16 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
17 honors Josephine Malone on her 100th birthday.
18 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
19 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to
20 Representative Carey Hamilton for distribution.
