RESOLUTION No. _____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating Julie
2 Evans on receiving the 2020 Indiana Rural Teacher of the Year
3 Award.
4 Whereas, Julie Evans is a high school mathematics teacher
5 for the eighth to twelfth grades for Bloomfield Junior Senior
6 High School, where she teaches Algebra I, Finite Math, and
7 Calculus A & B;
8 Whereas, Julie has worked tirelessly to develop a love of
9 learning in her students and to prepare them for college by
10 teaching Advanced Placement level math courses;
11 Whereas, Julie is a natural leader in the classroom and is
12 deeply involved in the professional development of Bloomfield
13 High School staff, by leading seminars on how to make math
14 more relatable to students and by introducing technologies to
15 enhance classroom learning;
16 Whereas, Each year, the Indiana Small and Rural Schools
17 Association awards a teacher the Indiana Rural Teacher of the
18 Year Award in recognition of a teacher's exemplary dedication
19 to the education of students in rural schools; and
20 Whereas, Julie was awarded the coveted 2020 Indiana
21 Rural Teacher of the Year Award as a result of her outstanding
22 commitment to both her students and the teaching profession:

1 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
2 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
3 concurring:
4 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly
5 congratulates Julie Evans on receiving the Indiana Rural
6 Teacher of the Year Award.
7 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
8 to transmit copies of this Resolution to Julie Evans and her
9 family.
