1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing the Indiana
2 Legislative Youth Advisory Council for the important work it
3 does in advising the Indiana General Assembly on youth related
4 issues.
5 Whereas, In 2008, the Indiana General Assembly enacted
6 Public Law 69 establishing the Indiana Legislative Youth
7 Advisory Council;
8 Whereas, The Council consists of Hoosiers from across
9 Indiana appointed by the Governor, the Speaker of the Indiana
10 House of Representatives, President Pro Tempore of the
11 Indiana Senate, and the Minority Leaders in the House of
12 Representatives and in the Senate. Each Council member serves
13 a two-year term;
14 Whereas, The Council convenes to advise the Indiana

1 General Assembly on topics related to Indiana's youth through
2 suggestion, endorsement, and advocacy;
3 Whereas, The actions and involvement of members of the
4 Council demonstrate the importance of individuals from
5 different backgrounds, political ideologies, and areas of
6 expertise engaging in policy discussions about government;
7 Whereas, Advised by the Indiana Bar Foundation, the
8 Council members' involvement provides a firsthand lesson in
9 civic engagement that cannot be matched; and
10 Whereas, Through the dedication and service of the Indiana
11 Legislative Youth Advisory Council, the interests of Indiana's
12 youth will continue to be represented: Therefore,
13 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
14 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
15 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
16 recognizes the Indiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council for
17 the important work it does in advising the Indiana General
18 Assembly on youth related issues.
19 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
20 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to
21 Council members Tanner Bowman, Wyatt Harvey, Elijah
22 Roberson, Emily Mertz, Aldo Medina, Kelby Stallings, Abby
23 Thomas, Madeline Erdell, Eilidh MacLeod, Ranvir Sandhu,
24 Nathaniel Alexander, Chris Elmore, Carter May, Hayden
25 Redelman, Kyle Feldkamp, Matthew Quintos, Ariel Dodds,
26 Cole Ferguson, Megan Stoner, and Matthew Stachler.
