SENATE RESOLUTION ____
MADAM PRESIDENT:
I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1 A SENATE RESOLUTION congratulating the Bishop
2 Dwenger High School girls volleyball team on winning the
3 2020 Indiana High School Athletic Association ("IHSAA")
4 Class 3A State Championship.
5 Whereas, The Bishop Dwenger High School girls volleyball
6 team defeated Brebeuf High School in the 2020 IHSAA Class
7 3A State Championship at Ball State University's Worthen
8 Arena;
9 Whereas, The team consists of teammates Briana Evans,
10 Lexa Zimmerman, Maria Reecer, Emma Lyons, Eva Hudson,
11 Lillie Olson, Kristin Bobay, Gabbie Stores, Emma Tone, Olivia
12 Tellez, Olivia Clark, Molly Wiginton, Audrey Hudson, Jessica
13 Brust, Ashley Zent, Loretta Pelkington, Bailey Chaney, and
14 Emily Brown;
15 Whereas, The Saints beat the Bellmont High School Braves
16 in the regional title game, and then went on to win against the
17 New Prairie Cougars in a semi-state match-up;
18 Whereas, Facing off against the Brebeuf Braves in the state
19 championship, the Saints rallied after being down the first two

1 sets to come back and seize the next three, capturing the 2020
2 IHSAA Class 3A title in a nail-biting match;
3 Whereas, Eva Hudson led the Saints with 33 kills, Kristin
4 Bobay contributed 17 kills, Olivia Tellez provided 57 assists,
5 and Emma Lyons defended with 22 digs;
6 Whereas, The Saints, led by coach Tim Houser, finished the
7 season with a 33-2 record and their win over the Braves is the
8 first state championship for the program; and
9 Whereas, Bishop Dwenger's enthusiasm, skill, and
10 diligence were key to the team's success in winning the state
11 title: Therefore,
12 Be it resolved by the Senate of the
13 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
14 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates the
15 Bishop Dwenger High School girls volleyball team on winning
16 the 2020 IHSAA Class 3A State Championship.
17 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
18 to transmit copies of this Resolution to each member of the
19 Bishop Dwenger High School girls volleyball team.
