Synopsis: Article V convention. Applies to Congress for a convention
under Article V of the United States Constitution to propose
amendments to the United States Constitution to provide limits to the
number of terms that an individual may serve in the United States
House of Representatives and in the United States Senate.
Effective: A constitutional convention is called when two-thirds of the
state legislatures make application to the Congress to call a
constitutional convention to consider an amendment to the Constitution
of the United States.

RESOLUTION No. 10
A JOINT RESOLUTION proposing an amendment to the United
States Constitution.
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. That the General Assembly of the State of Indiana
2 makes application to the Congress of the United States for a convention
3 under Article V of the Constitution of the United States to propose
4 amendments to the Constitution of the United States.
5 SECTION 2. That such a convention called under Article V be
6 limited to proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United
7 States that do both of the following:
8 (1) Set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be
9 elected as a Member of the United States House of
10 Representatives.
11 (2) Set a limit on the number of terms that a person may be
12 elected as a Member of the United States Senate.
13 SECTION 3. That this application shall be considered as covering

1 the same subject matter as the applications from other States to
2 Congress to call a convention to set a limit on the number of terms that
3 a person may be elected to the House of Representatives of the
4 Congress of the United States and the Senate of the United States.
5 SECTION 4. That this application shall be aggregated with
6 applications from the other States for the same subject for the purpose
7 of attaining the two-thirds of states necessary to require Congress to
8 call a limited convention on this subject, but shall not be aggregated
9 with any other applications on any other subject.
10 SECTION 5. That this application constitutes a continuing
11 application in accordance with Article V of the Constitution of the
12 United States until the legislatures of at least two-thirds of the several
13 states have made applications on the same subject.
14 SECTION 6. That certified copies of this resolution be sent to each
15 of the following:
16 (1) Each of the presiding officers of the Congress of the United
17 States.
18 (2) The Secretary of the United States Senate and the Clerk of the
19 United States House of Representatives.
20 (3) The presiding officer of each chamber of each state legislature
21 in the United States.
22 (4) The members of the Congress of the United States from
23 Indiana.
24 SECTION 7. That sending certified copies of this resolution to the
25 presiding officer of each chamber of each state legislature in the United
26 States serves as an invitation to the legislatures of those states to join
27 in this call for an Article V convention.
