STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS31374 / S1371
The intent of this legislation is to provide consistency, fiscal responsibility, and relevance in our election process.
It seeks to amend several sections of Idaho election code to hold all primary elections, including the presidential
primary, on the third Tuesday in April.
FISCAL NOTE
It is estimated that by combining elections, there will be savings for local jurisdictions. The savings will be the
approximately $2.7 million that it costs the State of Idaho every 4 years when a presidential primary election
is held on a different date than down ticket races.
