REVISED
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS31328 / SCR114
This Concurrent Resolution recognizes that serving in Congress should be a public service, not a career, and
joins Idaho's voices to the other states calling for an Article V Convention for the sole purpose of drafting a
Congressional Term Limits Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
FISCAL NOTE
Sending a petition to Congress will have no impact on the General Fund or any other political subdivision funds
except for administrative costs to draft, print, and deliver the resolution to Congress. If/when 34 states petition
Congress to call a convention to draft and propose a Congressional Term Limits Amendment to the Constitution,
there may be some cost – to be identified at that time – associated with the selection and participation of Idaho
delegates, in the unlikely event that a convention is ever called.
