STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS30751 / S1200
This legislation provides a salary increase equivalent to $1.20 per hour, similar to other state employees, for
each of the Public Utilities Commissioners, State Tax Commissioners, and Industrial Commissioners effective
July 1, 2023.
The salary of each of the three Public Utilities Commissioners is statutorily raised from $120,246 to $122,742.
The salary of each of the four State Tax Commissioners is statutorily raised from $111,376 to $113,977.
The salary of each of the three Industrial Commissioners is statutorily raised from $117,044 to $119,540.
This legislation also provides an appropriation for the increased cost to each agency for salary and benefits for
each of the ten commissioners.
FISCAL NOTE
Appropriates a total of $30,300 to increase commissioner pay by $1.20 per hour. This includes $25,000 for
salaries and $5,300 for benefits.
Of the total, $9,700 is from the General Fund and $20,600 is from dedicated funds.
