STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS30395 / S1109
This bill removes a sunset on the ability of the occupational licensing review committee's ability to function and
help reduce the burden of unnecessary government regulation. The existence of the committee has been a good
deterrent to the pursuit of unnecessary government regulation licensing. It also modifies the review period for
each existing licensing authority regulations to at least once every ten years.
FISCAL NOTE
The fiscal impact of removing the sunset and retraining the committee function and staff time to review
regulations should be similar to that fiscal impact than previously budgeted. The committee only meets
to review new licensing regulations as needed that being when such regulation is actually proposed. The
modification of the review time frame for existing regulations from five to ten years should reduce the fiscal
impact of the committee as the reviews will occur less frequently.
