STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS30279 / S1079
To increase voter participation in city elections by moving voting to even years. Traditionally, the voter turnout
on even years is considerably higher than the turn out on odd years, which is the current process for city
elections.
FISCAL NOTE
The amount of cost increase or savings is uncertain. However, by moving cities to even year elections it
eliminates the city elections in the odd years.
