STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS29852 / S1419
This is the FY 2023 original appropriation bill for the Agricultural Research and Extension Services which
appropriates a total of $35,784,800. For benefit costs, the bill increases the appropriated amount for health
insurance by $850 to $12,500 per eligible full time FTP, includes a one-year holiday of unemployment
insurance, and adjusts workers' compensation amounts. The bill funds one line item, which provides additional
funds for 4H programming and program development at the Idaho Center for Agriculture, Food and the
Environment (CAFE) in the Magic Valley.
This bill also includes two supplemental appropriations, including one from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund to
provide adult computer literacy training throughout Idaho; and the second from the General Fund for the Parma
Research and Extension Center.
