STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28735C1 / H0319
To increase voter participation in municipal elections, this legislation moves elections of all city officers,
mayors, and municipal bonds and levies to even-numbered years on the November general election ballot.Voter
turnout is significantly higher in even-year elections.
FISCAL NOTE
There may be savings to local units of government of approximately $500,000. This will not affect state general
funds.
