STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This legislation will create the Idaho Energy Conservation Code. Currently, Idaho Energy Conservation
standards are housed within the Idaho Building Code, which has sometimes made it difficult to follow changes
when they occur. Having a separate Idaho Energy Conservation Code will allow the legislature to more
effectively exercise oversight of changes to energy conservation codes.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no expected fiscal impact to any state or local entity. This legislation requires no enforcement and is
only a statutory change.
