STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Idaho has been experiencing a school bus driver shortage for several years. The pandemic has exacerbated the
problem. This legislation would simply add qualified school bus drivers to the list of retirees that are collecting
benefits from PERSI and are allowed to come back into the public workforce without affecting their retirement
benefits.
FISCAL NOTE
There will be no impact to the general fund.
