STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28313 / S1069
This legislation will provides clarity and consistency across the state regarding the steps county clerks should
take when an issue is discovered with a returned absentee ballot that prevents it from being counted. It also
requires that the time period to fix any issues is up to 8:00pm on Election Day when the polls close, just like
all other ballots cast.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no additional fiscal impact to the State.
