STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28289 / H0094
Last year, the legislature created the Criminal Justice Integrated Data System (CJIDS) and the Data Oversight
Council to protect the information involved with CJIDS. Simultaneously with creating CJIDS, the legislature
passed, and the Governor signed, S.B. 1409 and S.B. 1410, which moved personnel from the State Department
of Education to the Board of Education. This bill allows the education representative on the council to be from
the State Board of Education. This bill also allows for the election of vice-chair to assist in leading the council.
FISCAL NOTE
No fiscal impact as the center is already in place.
