STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28084 / H0070
This proposal would provide permittees/licensees with an entire year in the initial year of issuance before
expiration and eliminates the possibility of applicants paying the full fee for a permit or license only to have it
expire shortly after being issued. It will save business (e.g., suppliers, distilleries) money and allow the Division
to spread out the process of renewing the license throughout the year rather than having to renew the numerous
licenses and permits all at one time at calendar year-end. Further, by implementing the suggested idea State
Code would be consistent with Administrative Rule.
FISCAL NOTE
As this idea will save permit/license applicants in the initial year of issuance, applicant savings will be the
State's loss. The overall loss to the general fund is negligible and estimated to be approximately $500/year or
less.
