STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28124 / H0037
The purpose of this legislative change is to more effectively address nursing license discipline scenarios
involving criminal acts. Once a nurse enters a guilty plea, this legislation will allow the Board to take
appropriate, immediate action on that license, instead of waiting many months, even years in some cases.
FISCAL NOTE
This legislation will have no fiscal impact to the General Fund or the Board of Nursing’s dedicated fund. The
legislation does not change the Board’s current discipline process, it just moves up the timeline in certain
instances.
