STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28126 / S1011
The purpose of this legislation is to improve the way Idaho adopts new datums and mapping projections defining
Idaho State Plane Coordinates and to align with modern uses of measurements and geographic data. It also will
remove the requirement for an annual report. The performance report required of all agencies replaces the
annual report.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no fiscal impact to the amendment as this legislation replaces the prior state plane coordinate legislation.
The legislation primarily addresses standards used to complete mapping using the latest technology and datums
provided by the National Geodetic Survey. The annual report information is provided in the performance report.
