STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS28189 / S1003
This bill updates §46-601 by renaming extreme emergencies as extreme peril. It limits the application to
human caused conditions. It prohibits restrictions on the right to work. It limits the duration of extreme peril
declarations and provides conditions for their extension. It prohibits limiting or suspending the rights of the
citizens. It prohibits alterations, adjustments, or suspension of statutes by the Governor.
FISCAL NOTE
Because of the limitation of the circumstances under which a declaration of extreme peril could be made it,
would be extremely unlikely that there would be one so while there could be a cost to the general fund, it is
unlikely there would be any cost.
