STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27855 / S1379
The purpose of this legislation is to provide a practical method for using existing law enforcement and Idaho
Transportation Department resources to inspect commercial vehicles for dyed fuel in specified circumstances.
The proposal also defines and sets violations and civil penalties for violations under the act and provides specific
exceptions to its applicability.
FISCAL NOTE
There should be no significant impact to the General Fund, as this proposal directs law enforcement and the
Idaho Transportation Department to use existing resources for a visual inspection. There should be no new
costs to local units of government, but it should result in a positive fiscal impact to the Highway Distribution
Account.
