STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27707 / S1340
This amendment to the Idaho sentencing statute brings the provisions more in line with the up to date sentencing
practices and Idaho case law. This legislation is the result of the work of the justice reinvestment committee
and collaboration with other stakeholders. It establishes the criteria the judges consider in sentencing and other
relevant factors that may be considered.
FISCAL NOTE
No fiscal impact is anticipated as a result of this legislation as it reflects current sentencing practices.
