STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27698 / H0486
This Legislation clarifies and enhances restrictions on the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems, aka Drones.
It amends section 21-213 to strengthen prohibition of surveillance by unmanned aircraft on individuals and
private property. It provides a narrow scope for law enforcement and fire department use of unmanned aircraft
systems without a warrant.
FISCAL NOTE
This Legislation will have no fiscal impact on the state because no fees or fines are imposed. Judges could see
a slight decrease in requests for warrants by police to use unmanned aircraft in certain circumstances.
