STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This legislation amends Section 16-1602 by adding language to provide a clearer definition of "Neglected"
within the child protection statutes.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the general fund or local governments. It is possible that a clearer
definition will result in fewer calls and investigations of neglect, which could result in less expenditures within
the Child Welfare Division of The Dep. of Health and Welfare.
