STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27600C1 / SCR132
This concurrent resolution would establish a legislative interim committee to recommend new standards for
Idaho schools. The committee should consider and recommend a process for adopting new content standards,
which process should take into account the time necessary for standards review and implementation, including
the preparation of instructional materials and testing of the new standards. The committee may appoint a
non-legislative advisory committee which may give input, advice, and assistance, but will not have voting
privileges. The committee shall report its findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the First
Regular Session of the Sixty-Sixth Idaho Legislature.
FISCAL NOTE
If this resolution is adopted, any necessary legislator travel expenses would be paid from the existing legislative
appropriation by the Senate and House of Representatives. Funding for staff support and other expenses would
be provided by the same existing appropriation in the Legislative Account. The amount of this funding should
not exceed $10,000. Non-legislative members of the advisory committee will not receive reimbursement from
legislative funds.
