STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27620 / S1294
This legislation revises fees for the cervidae industry and gives the Director of the Idaho State Department of
Agriculture (ISDA) the authority to set fees in the future.
FISCAL NOTE
This legislation has no impact to the General Fund. The funds are in a dedicated account.
The industry has recovered from a deficit position and repaid the ISDA all debts for administration of the
program. Repayment of $167,488.33 from 2014 has been made and currently the industry has a surplus of
$15,506.48. In 2020 that surplus will be approximately $50,000. The revisions in this bill will reduce the
income by approximately $11,000 per year which will still leave a surplus above the cost of the program of
approximately $25,000 per year, which can then be adjusted by the authority given to the Director.
