STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The purpose of the change to Idaho Code 20-240 is to update the crimes the Governor must review for final
approval of commutations and pardons as the statute has not been updated since 1988.
FISCAL NOTE
There will be no fiscal impact to the general fund, other state funds, or to any local government budgets because
the change relates solely to the crimes that require Governor approval for commutations and pardons. The costs
for commutations and pardons are already absorbed in existing budgets.
