STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This legislation amends Idaho Code 6-2104 to provide a cap for non-economic damages. There is no cap on
economic damages.
FISCAL NOTE
This bill may present a positive fiscal impact as currently, the Idaho Supreme Court has held that no cap on
damages for public whistleblower claims exists. Passage of this legislation would limit non-economic damages
for those filing public whistleblower lawsuits.
