STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The proposed legislation prohibits the state of Idaho from discriminating against or granting special treatment
to any individual based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment,
education or contracting. All applicants should be treated equal unless there are qualifications based on sex that
are reasonably necessary.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state general fund as the Commission on Human rights already exits.
This update is not anticipated to materially increase the workload of this commission.
