STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27324 / H0402
Child Protection Service(CPS) employees of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare are already required
to be trained in the legal and constitutional rights of those they are investigating. This legislation adds a
subsection that identifies which rights, in particular, the legislature would like the CPS employees to be trained
in.
FISCAL NOTE
This legislation will have no fiscal impact to the general fund, or any other state fund or local governments
because CPS employees are already being trained, and this bill just clarifies some of the training that should be
included. The legislation will have no fiscal impact because the language just changes policy for how to use
the code and does not require resources to implement.
