STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This Legislation directs the Fish and Game Commission to assist local authorities such as counties, cities,
recreation districts, other political subdivisions, non-profit clubs or associations in improving existing shooting
ranges, constructing new ranges, and providing assistance in relocating ranges where necessary. The legislation
ensures that IDFG shall consult with other agencies to identify eligible land suitable for the location or relocation
of shooting ranges. It establishes the State Public Shooting Range Fund, to be administered by IDFG to provide
assistance to develop or improve ranges.
FISCAL NOTE
IDFG has current spending authority over the funds to be added to the State Public Shooting Range Fund. There
is no fiscal impact to the General Fund.
