STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The proposed legislation consolidates elections to the third Tuesday of May of each year and the Tuesday
following the first Monday in November each year.
FISCAL NOTE
There will be no fiscal impact to the state general fund. There will be a positive fiscal impact for local county
governments, as they will no longer have to pay the cost of running school bond and levy elections on two other
dates.
