REVISED
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27240 / H0373
This legislation updates language clarifying Idaho Correctional Industries as training program for incarcerated
individuals in Idaho. Clarifies that participants are trainees, not employees. This legislation amends section
20-413A to allow Idaho Correctional Industries to create and maintain training programs with all agricultural
products as defined in Idaho Code section 22-2602. Allows for the portion of training stipends to be deposited
in reentry savings.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund, other state funds, or to any local government budgets. Idaho
Correctional Industries is solely funded by sales of goods and services produced by the training programs,
including any costs incurred by IDOC in support if ICI training programs.
