STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Idaho has a serious lack of residential substance abuse treatment for teens. This legislation offers an exemption
from licensing for residential programs offering temporary alcohol-drug abuse treatment for those thirteen
through seventeen years of age.
FISCAL NOTE
These are private programs with parental consent and payment. Background checks and all other safety
measures required in this bill will be paid by the treatment programs. No public funding is involved.
