STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS27175
This legislation amends Idaho Code 56-1404 by changing the maximum hospital assessment rate and
more clearly defines the distribution of the assessment. A portion of the monies generated by the hospital
assessment will be deposited in a newly created Medicaid Expansion Dedicated Fund.
FISCAL NOTE
This will have a positive impact on the State General Fund of an estimated $18,000,000 to $20,000,000 at
a 3.3% percentage points increase to the Hospital Assessment, which could be approximately 45% of the
state's share of Medicaid expansion.
