1 An Act relating to the reservation of designated equestrian
2 campgrounds, and making penalties applicable.

1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 461A.48A Designated equestrian
2 campgrounds.
3 A person may reserve a designated equestrian campground not
4 more than three months prior to the date of the reservation if
5 the person attests during registration and proves upon checking
6 in that the campground will be used to stable equine animals
7 during the person’s stay at the campground. Any other person
8 shall not reserve a designated equestrian campground more than
9 two months prior to the date of the reservation.
10 EXPLANATION
11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
13 This bill relates to the reservation of designated
14 equestrian campgrounds. The bill allows a person to reserve
15 a designated equestrian campground not more than three months
16 prior to the date of the reservation if the person attests
17 during registration and proves upon checking in that the
18 campground will be used to stable equine animals during the
19 person’s stay at the campground. The bill prohibits any other
20 person from reserving a designated equestrian campground
21 more than two months prior to the date of the reservation.
22 By operation of law, a violation of the bill is a simple
23 misdemeanor. A simple misdemeanor is punishable by confinement
24 for no more than 30 days and a fine of at least $105 but not
25 more than $855.
