AN ACT
RELATING TO EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR A PERMIT TO PERFORM
TATTOOING.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 135.37, Code 2023, is amended by adding
2 the following new subsection:
3 NEW SUBSECTION. 1A. The department shall not require an
4 applicant for a permit to perform tattooing to show proof of a
5 high school diploma, high school equivalency diploma, or degree

6 from an accredited college as a condition of issuing a permit
7 to perform tattooing.
