1 Section 1. Section 331.301, Code 2021, is amended by adding
2 the following new subsection:
3 NEW SUBSECTION. 18. A county shall not require the payment
4 of a penalty, fine, or fee due to a resident’s noncompliance
5 with rules adopted by the county sanitarian regarding periodic
6 septic tank pumping as part of routine maintenance.
7 EXPLANATION
8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
10 This bill prohibits a county from requiring the payment
11 of a penalty, fine, or fee due to a resident’s noncompliance
12 with rules adopted by the county sanitarian regarding periodic
13 septic tank pumping as part of routine maintenance.
