AN ACT
MODIFYING PROVISIONS RELATED TO CERTAIN AFFIDAVITS ACCEPTED
BY COUNTY RECORDERS FOR UPDATING COUNTY TRANSFER BOOKS AND
INDEXES WHEN A CONVEYANCE OF REAL ESTATE HAS NOT OCCURRED.
5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 558.66, subsection 3, paragraph b,
2 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2021, is amended to read as
3 follows:
4 An affidavit of or on behalf of a surviving joint tenant or
5 a person who owns the remainder interest. The affidavit shall
6 include substantially the following:
7 Sec. 2. Section 558.66, subsection 3, paragraph c,
8 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2021, is amended to read as
9 follows:
10 An affidavit by or for a person, other than an individual,
11 following a merger, consolidation, name change, or change of

12 fiduciary. The affidavit shall include substantially the
13 following, as applicable:
