1 Section 1. Section 68A.406, subsection 3, Code 2021, is
2 amended to read as follows:
3 3. Campaign signs with dimensions of thirty-two eight
4 square feet or less are exempt from the attribution statement
5 requirement in section 68A.405. Campaign signs in excess of
6 thirty-two eight square feet, or signs that are affixed to
7 buildings or vehicles regardless of size except for bumper
8 stickers, are required to include the attribution statement
9 required by section 68A.405. The placement or erection of
10 campaign signs shall be exempt from the requirements of chapter
11 480 relating to underground facilities information.
12 EXPLANATION
13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
15 This bill changes the maximum size of campaign signs that are
16 not required to include an attribution statement from 32 square
17 feet to 8 square feet.
18 By operation of law, a person who willfully violates the bill
19 is guilty of a serious misdemeanor. A serious misdemeanor is
20 punishable by confinement for no more than one year and a fine
21 of at least $430 but not more than $2,560.
