2 completion of continuing education requirements.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 Section 1. EXTENSION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION COMPLETION
2 DEADLINES. Upon the expiration of section seventy-nine of the
3 Proclamation of Disaster Emergency issued by the governor on
4 December 9, 2020, or a section of any subsequent proclamation
5 with the same effect, whichever is later, each professional
6 licensing board administering the code chapters and Iowa
7 administrative code provisions listed in section seventy-nine
8 of the Proclamation of Disaster Emergency issued by the
9 governor on December 9, 2020, shall grant to each licensee
10 holding a license that requires the completion of continuing
11 education requirements an additional six months to complete
12 any continuing education requirement beyond the deadline that
13 was suspended by section seventy-nine of the Proclamation of
14 Disaster Emergency issued by the governor on December 9, 2020,
15 or a section of any subsequent proclamation with the same
16 effect.
17 EXPLANATION
18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
19 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
20 This bill relates to deadlines for the completion of
21 continuing education requirements for persons holding certain
22 professional licenses. The bill extends the deadlines
23 to complete such requirements by six months following the
24 expiration of section 79 of the Proclamation of Disaster
25 Emergency issued by the governor on December 9, 2020,
26 which suspended such deadlines, or of a section of a later
27 proclamation with the same effect.
