Your Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce, to which
was referred S.C.R. No. 147, S.D. 1, entitled:
“SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES
COMMISSION TO REVISE CURRENT RATE STRUCTURES AND PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS FOR THOSE COMMUNITIES THAT HOST RENEWABLE
ENERGY PROJECTS,
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to request that the Public
Utilities Commission evaluate current rate structures and consider
additional benefits for those communities that host renewable
energy projects.
The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Division of
Consumer Advocacy, Hawaii Public Utilities Commission, and
Hawaiian Electric offered comments
Your Committee amended this measure by changing the words
“revise” to “evaluate” and “provide” to “consider”.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce that is attached to
this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of
S.C.R. No. 147, S.D. 1, as amended herein, and recommends that it
