RE: S.C.R. No. 110
S.D. 1
Honorable Scott K. Saiki
Speaker, House of Representatives
Thirty—Second State Legislature
Regular Session of 2023
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Agriculture & Food Systems, to which was
referred S.C.R. No. 110, S.D. 1, entitled:
“SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII
WEST OAHU TO ESTABLISH BACCALAUREATE DEGREE PROGRAMS IN
AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY, FOOD SCIENCE, AND EDUCATION,”
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to urge the University of
Hawaii West Oahu to establish baccalaureate degree programs in
agricultural technology, food science, and education.
Your Committee did not receive any written testimony on this
measure.
Your Committee finds that by expanding its degree offerings,
the University of Hawaii West Oahu would better provide its
students with the tools they need to thrive in the twenty-first
century job market while also supporting the growth and
development of Hawaii’s agricultural economy and food stystems.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Agriculture & Food Systems that is attached to this
report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of
S.C.R. No. 110, S.D. 1, and recommends that it be referred to your
Committee on Finance.
