2 An act relating to trust funds; creating s. 787.062,
3 F.S.; creating the Trust Fund for Victims of Human
4 Trafficking within the Department of Legal Affairs;
5 providing for the funding sources and purposes of the
6 trust fund; providing for future review and
7 termination or re-creation of the trust fund;
8 providing an effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. Section 787.062, Florida Statutes, is created
13 to read:
14 787.062 Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking. —
15 (1) The Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking is
16 created within the Department of Legal Affairs.
17 (2) The trust fund shall consist of funds obtained under
18 s. 787.06 from penalties imposed by the courts and funds
19 received from any other source, including legislative
20 appropriations.
21 (3) The trust fund shall use its funds for the purposes
22 specified in s. 787.063.
23 (4) In accordance with s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of the State
24 Constitution, the Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking
25 shall, unless terminated sooner, be terminated on July 1, 2027.

26 Before its scheduled termination, the trust fund shall be
27 reviewed as provided in s. 215.3206(1) and (2).
28 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
