II.Summary of Amendments Contained in Message:
House Amendment 1 contains expanded and new subpoena powers for the DHSMV. Subpoena
authority is expanded for motor vehicle dealers and manufacturers, and created for DHSMV
regulatory activities associated with authorized private rebuilt inspection providers, title
certificates, and driver licenses.
The amendment further provides that an agent of the DHSMV may require the driver of any
nonpublic sector bus operated on the highways of this state to stop and submit to an inspection of
the vehicle or the driver's records.
